The End of an Era: Journey Embarks on Farewell Tour
After five decades of shaping the sound of classic rock, Journey is preparing to say goodbye. The iconic band has officially announced its “Final Frontier Tour,” a farewell journey set to kick off in 2026. This tour marks the end of a powerful chapter for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees, who have produced some of the most enduring anthems in music history.
The first leg of the tour will cover 60 cities across North America, starting on February 28 and concluding on July 2. Fans can expect an immersive experience, as all shows are billed as “an evening with,” meaning the night will be dedicated solely to Journey’s music without any opening acts.
A Heartfelt Thank You to the Fans
Founding member and guitarist Neal Schon, 71, expressed deep gratitude to the band’s loyal fanbase. “This tour is our heartfelt thank you to the fans who’ve been with us every step of the way — through every song, every era, every high and low,” Schon said in a news release. “We’re pulling out all the stops with a brand-new production — the hits, the deep cuts, the energy, the spectacle. It’s a full-circle celebration of the music that’s brought us all together.”
Keyboardist Jonathan Cain, a member since 1980, echoed the sentiment. “It’s been an incredible ride,” he stated. “We’ve shared our music with millions and this tour is about gratitude, connection and one last chance to feel that magic together.”

The Legacy and the Lineup
Formed in 1973, Journey’s history includes 16 studio albums and timeless hits like “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Any Way You Want It,” and “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart).” While the iconic voice of former frontman Steve Perry remains central to their classic recordings, the band has thrived with current lead singer Arnel Pineda since 2007.
“I’m honored to be part of this legacy and I’m grateful for having been welcomed with such open arms,” Pineda said. “Every night on stage has been a dream come true.”
The current lineup for the farewell tour features Neal Schon, Arnel Pineda, Jonathan Cain, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, drummer Deen Castronovo, and bassist Todd Jensen.

What’s Next for Journey?
While this marks the band’s farewell tour, Schon clarified that his musical journey isn’t over. “While this marks a farewell to one powerful chapter of the Journey we’ve shared, I want everyone to know I’m not done,” he affirmed. “Music is still burning strong inside me, and there are new creative horizons ahead.” It is unclear if more dates will be added beyond the initial 60 shows.
Tickets for the “Final Frontier Tour” are scheduled to go on sale Friday, November 14, via Ticketmaster, with presales beginning earlier in the week. For millions of fans, this will be the last opportunity to experience the magic of Journey live.
