While walking the red carpet for his new film ‘Jay Kelly,’ the actor couldn’t escape questions about the audacious real-life crime that saw thieves steal more than $100 million in jewelry.
In a now-viral clip, Clooney cheekily weighed in on the thieves’ success. “I wonder if they’re going to catch these guys,” he told Variety. “I mean, they seem to have done a pretty good job of getting away with it.”

When asked if the next film would draw inspiration from the Louvre incident, Clooney joked, “We should rob the Louvre, but somebody’s already done it, man, I don’t know.”
He then laughingly suggested a new, more personal target for Danny Ocean’s crew. “You know what we’re going to do? We’re going to rob [Adam Sandler],” he quipped, referencing his ‘Jay Kelly’ costar. “He’s got some crown jewels, I know he does.”
