What to Expect From the Album Lux
Set to be released on November 7 via Columbia Records, Lux promises to be one of the most ambitious projects of the year. Rosalía took on the role of executive producer for the album, which she recorded with the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Daníel Bjarnason. The record is ambitiously structured into four distinct movements.
An All-Star Lineup of Collaborators
Beyond Björk and Yves Tumor, the album boasts a curated list of incredible guest artists from around the world. Listeners can anticipate contributions from Portuguese fado singer Carminho, Spanish flamenco icon Estrella Morente, and celebrated Spanish singer Silvia Pérez Cruz. Also featured are the Washington-based trio Yahritza and the Escolania de Montserrat i Cor Cambra Palau de la Música Catalana boys choir, ensuring a rich and diverse sonic palette.
The Follow-Up to a Masterpiece
Lux will be Rosalía’s first studio LP since her groundbreaking 2022 album, Motomami, which was lauded by critics and landed at No. 8 on Pitchfork’s list of “The 100 Best Albums of the 2020s So Far.” While it has been two years since that album, she has kept busy, releasing a string of successful singles including “LLYLM,” “Tuya,” and the viral hit “Beso,” proving that her creative momentum has never slowed down. With “Berghain,” she has signaled that her new era will be just as innovative and essential as her last.
