A dream wedding has sparked fresh drama in Orange County. Alexis Bellino is speaking out after her Real Housewives of Orange County co-star Heather Dubrow skipped her recent nuptials, and she’s not buying the explanation.
Dubrow’s “Complicated” Reasoning for Absence
The controversy began after Bellino tied the knot with John Janssen in a beautiful Laguna Beach ceremony on October 3. When Heather Dubrow appeared on Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live! on October 9, host Andy Cohen asked why she and her husband, Terry Dubrow, were not in attendance.
Dubrow explained, “We were at Parents Weekend with our daughter,” before adding, “Complicated invite, because obviously [Shannon Beador] is a good friend and we’re not friends with Alexis and John as a couple.” Beador is Janssen’s ex, creating a tangled social web familiar to RHOC viewers.
Bellino Left “Perplexed” and “Thrown Off”
Appearing on the Reality with the King podcast just a day later, Bellino, 48, admitted she was “still thrown off” by Dubrow’s comments.
“I’m a little perplexed,” she confessed. “I thought we had a deeper friendship than that.”
Bellino found Dubrow’s on-air explanation to be a stark contrast to their private interactions. “We still just texted a couple days ago… and then she wished me well on my wedding day or right after,” she revealed, adding that the response on WWHL felt “calculated.”
“It didn’t even sound like Heather. That’s not the Heather I talk with on the phone,” Bellino stated, calling the answer “awkward and weird.” She even shared that she had playfully asked Dubrow to sing at her wedding, an offer Dubrow declined, citing the stress of singing at Tamra Judge’s wedding.
A Friendship on the Rocks?
Bellino questioned whether Dubrow’s allegiance has shifted now that she is filming with Shannon Beador. She pointed out that Dubrow had previously stated she spoke with Bellino more than with Beador, making the sudden loyalty to Beador feel suspect. Bellino has since vowed to get to the bottom of the situation, stating her intention to reach out to Dubrow directly to clear the air.
Despite the drama, Bellino’s wedding was a joyous affair, attended by 140 guests, including RHOC‘s Tamra Judge and Jo De La Rosa. Bellino told PEOPLE the day was a “dream come true” and that she and Janssen are looking forward to “more love, more adventure, more family memories.”
